Meet Javier... a sweet, silly boy who is looking for someone who will give him time to acclimate.<br/><br/>Javier (aka Havi) had a rough start in life, but he has come a long way. Found under a dumpster, this little orphan arrived at Melly Cat extremely underweight and a little bit spicy. (He was originally named Habanero!) After a few baths and full tummy, he started to trust his human foster. <br/><br/>Since then, he has grown into a curious and affectionate young adult with quite the personality. Havi is an accomplished conversationalist, fluent in trills, chirps, and meows. A proficient biscuit maker, he has a sixth sense for knowing when a lap and blanket need his attention. He has a strong interest in physics, particularly in how it relates to water, and conducts experiments daily. After hours of chatting, biscuit making, and water research, plus chasing spring toys and rubbing his cheeks on everything in the house, he is happy to snuggle and purr, and even offer his belly for pets.<br/><br/>Because he went hungry as a kitten, he is on the smaller side and is a little food insecure. He likes to know food is available even if he isn't eating right at that moment. He loves any treat, but freeze dried minnows are a particular favorite. (They can be both a toy and a treat!) <br/><br/>The only thing holding Havi back from finding his furever home is his shyness around new people. He is good with other cats and older kids. He has not been around dogs, so a slow and planned introduction would be best. He is happy to be scooped up and held by a human companion, but a home with another furry friend would be ideal.
