Jasmine's Story
Meet Jasmine! Jasmine’s life took a sudden turn when she was found outside, alone, with no microchip and no one looking for her. A veterinary exam revealed she was already spayed, someone once cared for her, but it also uncovered something else: a mass on her neck. A biopsy confirmed our fears. Jasmine has aggressive, inoperable thyroid cancer. She is only around 5 years old. Despite her diagnosis, Jasmine is doing remarkably well. She’s settled beautifully into her fospice (foster hospice) home, where she enjoys soft laps, quiet company, and lots of love. She’s affectionate, easygoing, and has even gained over a pound while in our care — a hopeful sign that she’s comfortable and still has some time left to enjoy life! We are monitoring her condition closely. We don’t know how much time she has. That uncertainty makes her situation complicated but it also makes every day matter. That’s why we’re now open to the possibility of a hospice adoption — for someone with the heart and courage to give Jasmine a loving home for the time she has left. It might be months or years. What we do know is that Jasmine deserves peace, comfort, and connection! Hospice adoption isn’t for everyone. But for those who feel called to it, it’s a powerful act of compassion. Jasmine doesn’t need forever — she just needs someone willing to meet her where she is, and walk with her the rest of the way. If you think that might be you, please reach out. Jasmine is ready to give and receive love, for as long as she can. Contact us at purrgatorycatrescue@gmail.com or apply for her at www.purrgatorycatrescue.com!
