January Rose's Story
January Rose was abandoned in a carrier outside PetSmart on the night before Thanksgiving. It's unknown how long she was sitting there before a staff member called animal control.

After arriving at animal control, it was found that January had a registered microchip (which is how we learned her name), so the ACO was eventually able to track down her owner, file a citation, and get Jana signed over legally. The issue was that January was MAD. She was acting aggressively- panicked, lunging, growling. We were asked to step in to give Jana a chance.

She was quite scary at first and wouldn't let anyone handle her. Cleaning her crate was difficult and only our experienced volunteers were allowed to handle her. With some patience, time, and help from our vet; January Rose received proper vet care and settled down. She has turned into a lovely cat. She likes to snuggle, she gets along great with other cats. We are SO proud of our girl. She was simply in distress over losing the only home she'd ever known.

Five months later, Jana is ready for the home she deserves. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, FIV/FeLV negative, and recent bloodwork shows she is a healthy girl. Jana likes other cats, so she would be fine to share a home with another cat. No dogs for this lady- at least not right now. And no small kids please. A quieter home would be best.

To meet her, please visit our website www.HalfwayHomeRescue.org and complete an application. Adoption donation $275.
