Jake's Story

Jake is a sweet, tender-hearted boy who is extra special in all the best ways. He has minor hydrocephalus, which gives him his uniquely round, adorable head — and that’s truly the extent of it. Jake is not on any medications and simply needs a yearly neurologist checkup. Day to day, he’s just a happy, easygoing kitten who lives to love.

Every volunteer who meets Jake falls for him immediately. He loves to curl up in your lap like a baby, soaking up affection, and he happily accepts tummy rubs without hesitation. When it’s time to relax, Jake settles into his fluffy white bed and gets to work as a professional biscuit maker — purring steadily to make sure the dough rises just right.

There is no kitten sweeter than Jake. He greets other cats as instant friends and would thrive in a home with other pets of all kinds. He would also be wonderfully gentle with respectful children. Because Jake is so soft-natured, he wouldn’t do well with any bullies — he simply isn’t wired to stand up for himself. He is incredibly laid-back, never hissing or growling, and takes life exactly as it comes.

Jake doesn’t have any true special needs, but he is still mastering the art of safely going down stairs and will need supervision until he’s confident (going up stairs, however, he has perfected). He may also benefit from pet stairs to reach a couch or bed, as he doesn’t jump very high. Bonus: there is almost no chance Jake will ever be spotted on your kitchen counters.

He is beyond sweet, impossibly cute, and quietly magical — the kind of kitten who makes your home feel softer just by being in it.

* Apply to adopt Jake: Click Here
