Jackson Galaxy's Story

Jackson Galaxy is an absolutely amazing cat who is about 9 years old. He was previously declawed (on front 2 paws) so we are looking for a forever home for him who understands the importance of keeping Jackson as a strictly indoor cat and is willing to address any side effects that his declaw may lead to (including but not limited to arthritis, needing different litter substrates). When Jackson came into SARA's rescue program, he had some clouding and redness in his right eye so we had an exam done with a veterinarian optometrist who diagnosed it as very mild eosinophilic keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) in his right eye. To treat, he gets 1 steroid eye drop administered daily. In the upcoming months this will be reduced to every other day but most likely will be needed for his lifetime. He was scheduled for euthanasia because his owner could not care for him anymore and the humane society said he was "unadoptable." It was immediately evident when we met him, that Jackson is a wonderful companion with a great disposition who certainly deserves a forever family. He is ready to be loved and spoiled with treats and affection! If you are interested in adopting Jackson Galaxy, please email or call (541-607-8892) to have an adoption application emailed to you. Once submitted, if looks to be a good match, we would schedule an appointment to meet Jackson (following social distancing protocols). He has been neutered, FeLV/FIV tested (negative), current on vaccines, Microchipped, had full blood panel run June 2020, and more ... If you are not in a position to adopt , please consider sponsoring him, with a donation that will help with ongoing care, as well as allowing us to rescue and assist more shelter animals in danger of being killed.
