Jackie O Lantern - FeLV's Story

Spooky season is coming, so you’d better come pick up a Jackie O Lantern! I was abandoned at a dog park with another cat, so I can’t wait to find a safe, warm place to live. It might take a minute for a spark to form between us, but once I get used to you, you’ll see how brightly my personality shines! The quickest way to my mushy center is gentle pets, especially at the base of my tail. If that sounds like fun to you, and you’ve got a quiet home, I might be the perfect pumpkin for you!

All MCSPCA kitties are tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) before they are put up for adoption. The test detects whether or not a cat has been exposed to FeLV. I tested positive on my SNAP test, and I also tested positive on my IFA test. What this means for me is that I was exposed to FeLV and that I have contracted the virus. I should be retested in 6 months to confirm the positive results, and just in case, I should not go home to any other kitties at this time. I’m ripe for the picking, so I hope someone takes a chance on me!
