Jack's Story

Meet Jack: your future cuddle buddy and professional lap-warmer.

Jack’s story starts at my mom’s apartment, where he spent his days politely waiting outside, hoping for dinner and maybe a little love. Turns out, his original family moved away and left him behind, don’t get me started. Thankfully, some kind tenants kept him fed, but when a cold night hit, I couldn’t just walk by and pretend he wasn’t shivering on the steps. So Jack came home with me.

He’s been with us for three weeks, charming everyone in sight. The problem? My two resident cats are not amused they’re staging a protest, complete with dramatic hissing and cold shoulders. We’re playing musical rooms just to keep the peace, which means Jack deserves better: a place where he can stretch out, purr, and soak up the attention he craves.

Jack is pure sweetness, affectionate, talkative, and the kind of cat who thinks laps exist solely for his benefit. He adores both kids and grown-ups, and he’s got snuggle skills that could win awards.

If you’ve got a spot in your home (and your heart) for a loving, vocal, and endlessly cuddly companion, please get in touch. Jack’s ready to be someone’s best friend—he just needs a little help finding them!

Mission for Paws's Adoption Policy
Meet and greets are on Saturdays from 11am - 3pm at the Petsmart in Pasadena. Please email to check that the cat that you are interested in adopting will be in attendance. Private meet and greets during the week are by appointment only with a submitted and approved application. The application process involves veterinary checks. You may need to call your veterinarian to allow release of information to our organization. If interested in adopting at our Saturday adoption event we suggest filling out the application prior to arrival so that we can do the necessary processing. We do not do same day adoptions unless your application is approved beforehand. www.missionforpaws.org/application There is a $125 adoption fee. All of our cats are spay/neutered, tested for FiV and Feline Leukemia, fully vaccinated, treated for any parasites and microchipped. Fees are waived on our special needs and senior pets. Those can be discussed during the adoption process. Please note our kitten companion policy. At Mission for Paws we prefer that our kittens go to homes that already have a young companion animal or to a home willing to adopt two kittens. We feel it’s important for kittens to have playmates for good socialization and life enrichment. Happy well adjusted cats make better pets and increase the likelihood of a successful adoption and a permanent home.
