JackBox 2023's Story

Jackbox is still learning to trust people and will need a bit more time before living with a family. She is a sweet cat, who is very interested in cats and kittens, and loves to play...but only in secret when no human is watching. She also seems to enjoy music and television. Since Jack was trapped as an older kitten, already old enough to be spayed, she already had some feral behaviors. Her secret play sessions indicate there is a house cat waiting inside her and patience is the key. He is bonded with his sister Julia, they must be adopted together.

Update 8/10/23 - JackBox is starting to blossom! She really enjoys playing with other cats and kittens, and is never rough with even the smaller and younger kittens. She will take Tuna Loin from my fingers after the first few bites, though she appears to think it's alarming that she's doing so. She doesn't run and hide when I enter the room, even if I'm carrying rustling bags. She watches me carefully, and seems very interested in understanding all the weird things humans do (like sweep). She genuinely enjoys music, and will immediately leave her enclosure to play near the speaker, occassionally rolling over to look up at it (she seems to like violins, which is odd). She's getting more beautiful every day too. Her coat is so glossy that it shines, and her eyes are a startling green and amber. She has the BEST facial expressions. I didn't even know cats could make those expressions, but she has them. I've been hoping I can catch them on camera, because no one would believe me otherwise. She'd be great on one of the YouTube voiceovers they do of animals. Comedy in the making.

JackBox is bonded with her sister Julia, and serves as her ambassador to the humans when Julia is still learning

Jackbox is still shy of humans and searches out the other foster cats for attention. She loves a window seat and treats. She enjoys chitter chattering at the birds outside the window.
