Jack's Story
MEET JACK: THREE LEGS, NINE LIVES, AND ABSOLUTELY NO VOLUME CONTROL! HELLO?! CAN EVERYBODY HEAR ME?! GOOD. Because my name is Jack, and apparently, I have to YELL to get anything accomplished around here. Let me tell you a little about myself. I came into rescue after what the humans believe was an unfortunate encounter with a vehicle. I was in pretty rough shape. My leg was badly injured, my jaw needed attention, and I had a couple of teeth that had to go. Long story short, the humans took me to the vet, and I woke up with three legs. THREE. I specifically remember arriving with FOUR, but apparently nobody consulted me about this decision. Thankfully, losing a leg hasn’t stopped me from doing much of anything. I’ve healed up, figured out this whole tripod situation, and I’m getting around just fine! Now, let’s discuss my personality. I HAVE OPINIONS. LOTS OF THEM. AND I WILL BE SHARING THEM. LOUDLY. I love attention, and if I feel like I’m not getting enough of it, you WILL hear about it. My foster mom says I’ve been yelling at her pretty much nonstop since I started feeling better. Personally, I think she’s just a terrible listener. I should also mention that I’m not particularly fond of other cats invading my personal bubble. If another cat gets within about six feet of me, I might have a few choice words for them. I’m not necessarily looking for a fight. I just believe in establishing boundaries. VERY VOCALLY. For that reason, I’d probably be happiest as your one and only feline ruler, or possibly in a home where other cats are calm and willing to respect my space. Oh, and one more thing. I WOULD LIKE TO GO OUTSIDE. Apparently, the humans have decided that since I’ve already had one unfortunate adventure involving a vehicle and lost 25% of my legs, my outdoor privileges have been permanently revoked. RUDE. So yes, I need a safe, indoor-only home with someone who understands that I may occasionally attempt to negotiate my release. By negotiate, I mean stand at the door and yell. But underneath all my dramatic performances, I’m just a guy who’s been through a whole lot and is ready for a fresh start. I don’t need your sympathy. I don’t need four legs. And I certainly don’t need anyone telling me to use my inside voice. I just need someone who will love me, listen to my complaints, and appreciate the magnificent three-legged loudmouth that I am. So, what do you say? Got room in your home for a tripod with the vocal range of a malfunctioning fire alarm? Love, Jack Veterans adopt free with proof of service.

Distinguishing Marks
Well, for starters, I’m missing 25% of my original equipment! I’m a handsome three-legged gentleman, also known as a tripod. I have a few battle scars from my unfortunate adventures, but don’t let the missing leg fool you. I’ve still got plenty of attitude, personality, and absolutely NO volume control!

Special Needs
Jack is a three-legged amputee following a traumatic injury, believed to have been caused by a vehicle. He has recovered from surgery and adapted well to life on three legs. Jack requires a strictly indoor-only home to keep him safe. While he gets around well, maintaining a healthy weight and monitoring his mobility will be important as he ages. He would do best as the only cat or with very calm, easygoing cats who respect his personal space. Jack can be quite vocal when other cats get too close, although he has not shown aggression. Jack doesn’t require constant assistance or special accommodations at this time. He just needs a safe, loving home with someone who appreciates his independence, understands his physical limitations, and doesn’t mind a little yelling!
