Jack's Story

March 20th, 2026 - Jack is now ready for adoption. He still needs to put on some more weight but he can do that as the spoiled cat in his new home. Please read Jack's bio, requirements for adoption and if you think he would be a good fit then go to avacats.org and fill out an online application form. An adoption co ordinator will be in touch.<br/>Jack came in to our rescue end of February from Hamilton Animal Services. He was a " stray" found emaciated, frost bite on both ears and all 4 paws, fur missing from hind legs, clinging to life. He went to our vet where he went on IV, antibiotics, treatment for his paws , - his blood work was normal except for a high WBC due to infection and some anemia due to starvation . There was nothing to do for his ears as the tips broke off, but his paws have healed. He still needs to put on more weight but he is the sweetest male and was a hit at the vet clinic where he spend a good week being treated. He has been flea treated, dewormed, received his FVCRP and rabies vaccines, neutered and microchipped. He has also tested negative for FIV/FeLeuk. His adoption fee. He is very playful, loving, purr machine who loves his soft bed, great food, both dry and canned and his churro treats. His adoption fee is $250. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy.
