Jabu's Story

PLEASE NOTE: You must complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION in order to receive a response. https://www.homeatlastrescue.ca/adoption-form/, or click on the "MORE ABOUT HOME AT LAST RESCUE" button in the bottom right for a direct link.

Named after the Brazilian “jabuticaba” fruit - a small, dark berry that’s sweet and full of flavour - Jabu is just like her namesake: tiny, unique, and full of joy. She may be the smallest of her siblings, but she has one of the biggest hearts. From the very beginning, she was a shy little girl, but she has truly flourished - gaining confidence each day as she explores new corners and blossoms into her playful, independent self. Jabu is a joyful mix of sweetness and spunk. She zips around the room with zoomies, chases her favourite little white furry rat, and shows off her bunny kicks with crochet carrots or butterfly wands. When the adventure slows down, she enjoys gentle plant sniffs, climbing up shelves, and napping by the curtains. She’s also discovered two new loves: running water and sleeping in the sink - sometimes snoozing away an afternoon before waking to call for her brother. It’s impossibly cute to watch! Jabu loves being petted and will often flop onto her side as a sweet little invitation for belly rubs and cuddles. And through it all, her purr motor never quits - she’s a loud and proud purrer who greets you with affection the moment she sees you. Jabu would love to be adopted with her brother, Tuca.

Kittens under the age of nine months MUST have another age-appropriate cat or dog in their home, or as otherwise noted. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO SUITABLE APPLICATIONS FOR SIBLINGS.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first come, first served.
