Isis's Story

Meet Isis

Female, approximately 3 years old, spayed , up-to-date on Rabies vaccination, up to date on flea prevention. Adoption Fee: $100

Some cats choose their people, and Isis certainly chose me. When she was living as a stray behind my workplace, she began waiting by my parking spot every day. The moment she saw my car, shed come running to greet me, excited for breakfast, pets, and a little time together. Even now, she still greets me with that same joyful enthusiasm.

Based on where she was living, Isis had almost certainly been spayed through a large Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project by the local rescue A Hope, so my original plan was simply to continue caring for her outdoors. She had food, fresh water, safe places to sleep, and woods and a field away from busy roads. She seemed content.

Then last summer, everything changed.

Isis suffered an injury that required a trip to the veterinarian. I wasnt sure how shed handle itI was the only person shed ever allowed to touch her, much less pick her up. To everyones surprise, she was an absolute sweetheart. No hissing. No biting. No scratching. The moment she realized the veterinary staff were there to pet her, she melted into purrs.

At that point, there was no way I was putting her back outside.

Since then, Isis has embraced life as an indoor/catio kitty, and shes proven herself to be one of the sweetest companions you could ask for.

She absolutely lives for affection. Shell enthusiastically grind her head into your hand for more pets, arch her back into scratches, and has recently started leaning her whole body against me while I hold and love on her. One of her favorite things is when I gently pet the top of her head with my chin while cuddling her.

Shes a quiet, gentle soul who enjoys peaceful days stretched out in sunny windows. A home with large windows or a screened porch would be her dream, where she could safely soak up the sunshine and watch the world go by.

If Isis could write her own wish list, it would probably include:

* Fancy Feast served like the royalty she believes she is.
* Endless pets and cuddles.
* Plenty of sunny napping spots.
* A calm home where she can be someones cherished little princess.

Because Isis spent years living outdoors, shell need a little time to settle into a new home and learn to trust her new person. Once she does, the affectionate, loving cat underneath shines through in the most rewarding way. She isnt the kind of cat who gives her heart away in five minutes, but when she does, its completely.

Isis would thrive as the only cat in a quiet household where she can soak up all the love and attention shes waited so long to receive. She does cohabitate peacefully with other cats, but requires her personal space be respected or else there will be a swat from her paw and a little hiss.

Shes already survived life outside.
Now shes ready to spend the rest of her life exactly where she belongs: safe, adored, and treated like the inside princess she was always meant to be.
