Isabelle's Story

Help us welcome Isabelle, who is already proving to be a pro at #TongueOutTuesday! She showed up on a kind person's porch in Elkland just begging to come inside. She had an upper respiratory infection and was blowing some gnarly snot bubbles, but we're happy that's clearing up now. Isabelle ADORES people and attention; if you stop petting her, she'll gently tap you or hug your hand with her paws until you start again. You can tell she's had kind of a rough life, but was thankfully fixed and ear tipped while living outside. She's definitely loving living indoors, though, and has already claimed a comfy bed in her colony. We estimate Isabelle is about 2 years old. She's good with other cats and mostly keeps to herself so far. We're not sure about dogs yet, but she's so sweet that a mellow one would likely be just fine. Can anyone give this little lady a happy life inside? Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries's Adoption Policy

Our adoption process: 1) Fill out an application on our website at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt. Please note that submitting an inquiry through PetFinder or other online listing does not constitute an adoption application. Applications can also be downloaded as a pdf and emailed to secondchanceas@yahoo.com or filled out at the sanctuary any time we're open. 2) We will process your application by calling your veterinarian and personal references. How long this takes depends on how quickly we can reach them. You can help expedite this process by letting them know we'll be calling from the number 570-376-3646. We may also call you to ask additional questions or to share pertinent information about the animal you've applied for. 3) We will inform you of your application's status, usually in a few days to a week. Even if the animal you hoped to adopt goes to another home, you still may be approved to adopt another animal. We attempt to match animals to homes that best fit their personality/needs and vice versa. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
