Iris- one smart cookie!'s Story
Are you ready to meet the love of your life? Iris is caring, smart, and a little bit quirky! She’s been through a lot, but if it brought her to you, that’s all that matters.

Iris is so funny. She likes taking showers with me, but avoids getting wet by standing out of reach of the water. She was given an expensive water fountain, which she ignores, but the box it came in is her favorite toy. I was having trouble training her out of some bad habits, until I realized that a combination of faking being hurt and complimenting her did the trick almost immediately. She cares so much about her people.
Iris is perfect (she’s a chatter and she’ll tell you so herself) but there are a few issues we want her future adopted to be aware of. Iris is on medicated food for a bladder issue that has been resolved. She will need to stay on that food. She also takes prozac and joint support supplements. Her conditions are very manageable and she is in good health despite her setbacks.
While we’d prefer a house without other pets for Iris, a respectful dog or cat with a long introduction might be ok. She would not do well with kids.

Please head to our website to fill out an application prior to sending an inquiry or asking to set up a meeting. (See application at https://www.nwac-oregon.org/cat-application). Once your adoption application is approved we will contact you to put you in touch with the foster family to ask any questions, set up an online meeting, or in person meet. If you submit an inquiry instead of an application, this will delay the process and increase the chance someone else will meet YOUR dream cat before you do! If we get an inquiry, we will ask you to fill out an application before we respond to questions.
-The $140 adoption fee for each kitten Includes spay/neuter, microchip, de-worming, current flea treatment, current vaccines for their age, and a vet exam. Unless otherwise noted, they have also had a negative test for FIV and FeLV. Northwest Animal Companions is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the pets in our care.
