Inky New Mexico's Story

Meet Inky, a 1.5-year-old heartthrob with a bit of an edge.

This striking boy made quite the journey from New Mexico after being found as a stray, and while he's still adjusting to life off the streets, we know there's a truly special cat beneath that tough-guy exterior. Right now, Inky is cautious and will let you know (with a hiss or swat) when he's feeling overwhelmed. He takes some time to warm up but is very receptive to treats.

According to his finders, once he feels safe, Inky blossoms into a playful, affectionate companion. He's incredibly sensitive and just needs time, patience, and someone willing to go at his pace. Inky also enjoys the company of other cats, especially those who are confident enough to set boundaries when play gets a little too rowdy. He LOVES to play with toys (especially wand toys), scratch flat cardboard scratchers, and be in a comfy spot by the window. He has perfect eating and litter box habits!

One thing to note: Inky sometimes gets shaky when very anxious, and while we're monitoring it closely to rule out anything medical like seizures, his forever home should continue to keep an eye on this.

Inky is searching for a kind, understanding adopter who believes in second chances and is willing to give him the time he needs to trust.

If you are interested in meeting Inky, please fill out an adoption application to be connected with his foster family!
