Indy's Story

Meet Indy! Indy is at our Marathon Campus and ready for adoption! Indy came to us as a stray cat, and although she was friendly, she was wildly shy. For every animal that enters our shelter, we hold them for a specific length of time to give an owner a chance to come forward. If nobody reclaims them, then, after vetting them, they're placed for adoption.

At our Marathon Campus that means entering our free-roaming awesome adoption space lovingly named our "Catio." This indoor/outdoor space gives our adoptable cats a chance to wait as long as it takes to find a family to call their own in a cage-free environment. With shelves, cat trees, toys and enrichment galore, it's truly a kitty-oasis. Well, for nearly every cat. indy was the exception.

Indy was not comfortable in Catio, in fact, she hid and wouldn't come out for days. So, in her best interest we moved her back inside to our only small room designated for cats. After a few weeks confined she really started to gain confidence and eventually she moved to free-roaming inside. Now, she's made it her safe space and is absolutely not listening when we tell her how cool Catio is. She's made up her mind! She wants to stay in that room, and that's that.

So, how do we get Indy adopted if she's not in Catio? Here! If you're looking for a wildly sweet, petite, grey kitty with bold green eyes then you'll have to ask the staff and volunteers at our Marathon Campus to introduce you to the elusive Indy.
