Meet India, an 8 month old little tortico princess. Named after India Steele from C.J. Archer's Glass & Steele books, she is very much like her namesake: a strong, take no nonsense female. But don't let that fool you! Underneath her strong minded (aka torti) exterior lies a sweetheart. <br/><br/>India is adamant that she MUST be the only pet in the house. She wants her people all to herself. She absolutely loves playing with feather toys, chasing lasers, and snuggling. She also prefers 2 litter boxes since she likes them to be kept super clean. A self-cleaning box plus a standard one would be ideal. <br/><br/>India's personality is as unique as her markings. She is goofy, loving, smart, energetic, and will keep you laughing and on your toes. If your castle needs a princess, India is ready to rule.

Rhode Island Feline Rescue's Adoption Policy

We have a very detailed Adoption Application as well as an adoption coordinator system. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed by the adoption coordinator, vet records confirmed, residence status, renting/landlord information, pet permission, and employment verified then the coordinator conducts an interview with the potential adopter. If deemed a good match, the adoption coordinator forwards the information about the potential adopter to the foster. If the foster also agrees then they will have a meet and greet. At the completion of the meeting, if both parties agree the cat/kittens is a good fit an adoption contract is signed, and the adoption fee paid. We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis. All the cats and kittens in our care receive the following: checkup, spay/neuter, rabies & distemper vaccines, de-worming medicine, flea preventative, microchip, and Felv/FIV test.
