Iggy, a dangerously cute cat-monkey (bonded sister, Katrina)'s Story

Hello there, friend! Thanks for stopping by!

At Hobbes Haven our mission is to help shape & support a better life for feral & stray cat colonies in our varying communities of the Columbia River Gorge Oregon.

We want to introduce you to Iggy, a dangerously cute cat-monkey (please see my bonded sister- Katrina)

Iggy is an adventurous spider-cat-monkey! She is an active, friendly and affectionate girl. She has a gorgeous, shiny full black mane with a single white dot right in the middle of her chest. Her big, sparkly and brilliant eyes stand out against the contrast, making her one big set of doll eyes camouflaged in soft and shiny fur. Iggy loves her sister Katrina, and both of them will bounce around, chasing each other until they run out of steam and both mellow around to be the best couch buddies. Iggy got her name because when she was a tiny baby girl, she would find anything she could climb up and make her way up fearlessly, whether that was the cat scratcher, the cat tree, the sisal mat or your climb up your legs using your pants! At first it was black spider monkey, leading to black widow, and then the association with the famous Black Widow song led to this gorgeous girl getting the name Iggy, after the famous Iggy Azalea. They are both charming showstoppers who love the attention but stay cool (even when the vacuum is on!)

Iggy and her siblings were so lucky and fortunate to have been saved after being dumped by the side of a busy highway, out in Goldendale, Washington. We are so appreciative to the gal that found the kittens rustling around the tall grass, while she happened to be walking her dog on the highway. This litter of five was around 20 feet away from the main road and were so extremely lucky to have been scooped up before they stumbled into plain view of the raptors or highway dangers.

Due to them being rescued together and tamed for domestication alongside one another, they have endured growth together that has bonded them. Our goal is for Iggy to be adopted her bonded sister, Katrina.

Currently we have an estimated guess that Iggy was mid-May. her adoption fee will cover:
- Her spay: ensuring he will have a kitten free future!
- x3 FVRCP vaccines: August, September & October
- 1 year rabies vaccine at time of neuter
- x2-3 deworming treatments
- Flea bath & monthly long flea protection
- Nail trims
- Microchip with a lifetime subscription.

-----

We hope to find families that will keep in touch with Hobbes Haven and update us with pictures and videos of our rescued friends! Remember that many times we have been fostering these kittens for many months, and that is another reason you know Hobbes Haven is a good-hearted organization to support, because our goal is to find the RIGHT homes, NOT a home RIGHT NOW.
Here at Hobbes Haven we focus on supporting the health and well-being of feral and stray cat colonies via T-N-R-M (Trap- Neuter- Return- Monitor); if we encounter kittens or cats young enough or friendly enough to domesticate, we rescue them from those sites and work with them directly to get them healthy and ready for a second chance at life as a part of a family and a home. Our rescued cats and kittens are unique being that they were born as feral or stray cats, meaning it took more time and involvement to domesticate them may than others. When you support Hobbes Haven via your adoption and donations, you are helping a bigger ripple effect, because you are supporting existing feral cat colonies stop their cycle of suffering by getting all colony cats sterilized and vaccinated, but also offering a very rare second chance to a few lucky ones.

At Hobbes Haven, your adoption fee helps us cover this Cinder's first veterinary care at one of our collaborating veterinary clinics in the Columbia River Gorge.

Up to the point of adoption, Hobbes Haven has covered all expenses out of pocket- your donations help us cover these collective costs and truly make a difference!

------

Interested in adopting Iggy?
1. Email us via this link or at HobbesHaven@gmail.com- please allow 24-48 hours for a response.
2. Catch us at one of our upcoming Adoption Clinics held at our collaborating veterinary clinics- follow our socials to learn about the next ones coming up!
3. Make an appointment to meet us virtually and see these rescued kittens in a relaxed and comfortable state.

** Note: We are looking for the right families seeking a bonded pair of kittens- our preference for the benefit of the rescued kittens is for them to have a sibling to grow alongside with, this is for their acclimation to their new home and for their overall quality of life.**
