HUXLEY's Story

HUXLEY is a beautiful, BROWN TABBY BALINESE MIX with medium length fur. Her expressive eyes are light green and she is 4.5 months of age and weighs 4 lbs. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, has her claws and has been microchipped.Huxley was scheduled to be adopted to a home where there was another young kitty, but it fell through, so Huxley is seeking a new adopter who is ready to commit to her fur-ever-after.

Huxley, her littermates, and momma were surrendered to SPCR from an animal shelter when the kittens were about 3 weeks of age. The mother was already malnourished with too little milk which made the kittens even more vulnerable to health concerns. She weighed half a pound upon arrival. The family was transferred to an SPCR foster home where bottle-feeding began immediately to provide supplemental nutrition over the following 6 weeks while transitioning them to eat wet food. Her bio includes photos throughout her young life.

Huxley is very loving and starts to purr as soon as she knows you’re about to touch her. She loves to sleep sprawled out across her humans’ laps. In typical kitten-fashion, she loves to play with wand toys like DaBird, with plastic springs, crinkle balls, and toy mice. She shimmies up sisal poles with ease and scratches on them too. Huxley is lean and athletic which enables her to jump to high places. Without a human present, she sleeps on perches such as the top of a cat tower or bookcase (anything accessible). Huxley’s fur is like her Balinese mother…super silky soft and medium length, so easy to maintain. She also tolerates having her claws trimmed. Huxley eats dry Purina Pro Plan Complete kitten food and several flavors of wet food. Not surprisingly, she also loves Churu.

Huxley is socialized to people but would likely be fearful of dogs. It seems that she would warm up to respectful children, aged 8 or older. Preference will be given to an applicant who has another playful kitty in the home.

To apply for this precious kitten, please fill out an adoption application on our website:

https://purebredcatrescue.org/adoption-application-form/

ADOPTION FEE $75.
