HURLEY's Story
HURLEY is a handsome, medium short-haired orange tiger with a white ruff and paws. Very scared, at first, HURLEY would hide, but he now greets the volunteers when they come in. He likes to be petted and scratched a bit, but he is still a little shy, especially when there are lots of strangers in the room. He is not a fan of being picked up yet.

HURLEY likes to play with toys and doesn't mind the other cats, but we do not know how he'd be with dogs. He is not aggressive, but if things get noisy or chaotic in the room, he will go high and stay there.

HURLEY is slowly understanding that he is safe. But as much as the volunteers at the shelter love taking care of the cats, it is not a home. Given HURLEY's nervous nature, he needs a quiet home with people who will be patient and will give him time to adjust and trust. He would do best with older children who understand that he needs to trust them before he will interact with them. He needs a warm bed, lots of toys, and space he can retreat to for down time if he gets upset, especially until he learns to trust his new people and surroundings. And he needs lots of treats.

DOB-01/2023 Entered shelter-01/2024

To adopt HURLEY, please come to the shelter during Adoption Hours Monday and Wednesday from 4-7, Saturday from 10-1 or call 231-773-3030 to make an appointment.
