Hunter's Story

Meet this charming little orange tabby, about six months old, with a story as warm as his sunny coat…and his name is Hunter.
He first wandered into a neighborhood in Huntington in November 2025, a shy little visitor just trying to find his way. A kind-hearted Good Samaritan began leaving food out for him—at first, he’d stop by once a day. But before long, he upgraded himself to a full meal plan, showing up for both breakfast and dinner like he’d always belonged.
Though he lingered on the porch, he kept his distance, too skittish to trust just yet. But when the harsh January weather rolled in, everything changed. With a cozy outdoor sleeping space set up just for him, he finally decided to come inside the porch—and promptly slept for 12 straight hours on his very first night. Clearly, he knew a good thing when he found it. From then on, he became a regular nighttime guest, escaping the cold and cautiously exploring his surroundings while his rescuer searched for help. Slowly but surely, he began to relax. Soon, gentle pets were welcomed, playtime with little balls became a favorite pastime, and he even started strolling around the yard with his human friend. Before long, he made his decision—he was home.
That’s when John Debacker stepped in, easily scooping up this once-shy boy and bringing him into our care. Now fully vetted and ready for his next chapter, this sweet tabby has blossomed into a loving, affectionate companion. He adores being petted, happily rolls over for belly rubs, and will snuggle right up by your neck when you pick him up.
From cautious wanderer to certified cuddle bug—he’s ready to find his forever family.
