Hugo's Story

Hugo’s story is all about patience, trust, and choosing love on his own terms.

He first appeared on a foster property last year and was trapped for neutering. At the time, it seemed like he might be ready for indoor life, but Hugo quickly let everyone know he wasn’t quite finished with his wild‑boy phase, so he was released back outside.

When winter arrived, Hugo had a change of heart. He decided that indoor living wasn’t so scary after all and chose to come back inside—this time because he wanted to. Since then, he’s been learning that people can be warm, safe, and worth trusting.

Now Hugo is ready for a forever home where he can continue blossoming. He’d do wonderfully with another friendly cat, and he’s surprisingly fond of the dog in his foster home (even if the feeling may not be mutual). Once he bonds with someone, he becomes deeply affectionate and loves sharing quiet, meaningful moments.

If you’re patient, kind, and excited to watch a once‑hesitant boy grow into a devoted companion, Hugo may be the perfect match.

All Saving Stevie kitties are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, combo tested, and microchipped. Priority will be given to adopters with a young cat in the home or who are looking to adopt two kitties together.

If you're interested in meeting this cutie, click on the “Start your Inquiry” button to fill out an Adoption Inquiry Form, or visit our website and fill out an application at savingstevie.com.
