Hugo 's Story
Hugo is a 2 year old boy looking for his furever home.
Back during the snow in January, a couple in the East Village heard some meows coming from the boiler room in their apartment building. They went to check and found a friendly, but shy kitty. The couple then contacted us and we picked him up. Tracing the microchip, we found that he had been fixed in September and placed as a store cat in Chinatown, most likely as a mouser and left in the basement. How he ended up in the East Village, we don't know....perhaps in a delivery truck. But he was riddled with fleas and 2 pounds lighter than his paperwork showed, so we decided there was no way he was going back to the store.
A foster stepped up and named him Hugo.
Hugo has spent the last couple months learning how to be a house cat. And he's doing great. He just loves people. Cautious at first with new people, as soon as he realizes you're there to give him some attention he is all over it and you. And when he's really comfy, he will settle in your lap.
He is very playful and loves a variety of toys and celebrating his new life with the zoomies.
Quick movements will sometimes scare Hugo so we recommend a home with low activity. He seems curious about the ferals outside his foster home and we think that with a proper introduction that Hugo would enjoy the company of another cat. However, he would be totally ok as your one and only.
Negative for fiv/felv. Fully vetted and ready to go.
