Howie's Story

Howie - 4.5 month old male kitten

Howie's story began on July 5th, when he was found all alone in a parking lot, likely separated from his family during the chaos of fireworks. After settling into his foster home, he took a very cautious approach to his new life: sleeping in the most awkward positions, watching his foster siblings play and cause mischief without him, and then sleeping in more wildly uncomfortable positions.

While Howie may not have been the most energetic kitten in the room, he turned out to have a surprisingly nurturing side. When a litter of 2-week old orphaned kittens arrived, Howie stepped into the role of adoptive father. He lovingly cleaned them, curled up with them to keep them warm, guarded them while they slept, and even helped teach them how to use the litter box. Not bad for a kitten who usually looks like he just woke up from a nap and can't be bothered to fix his bedhead.

These days, Howie's greatest passions include:

Sleeping on laps
Sleeping on desks & laptops
Sleepytime cuddles
More naps
Looking adorable with eyes that are never quite all the way open
In fact, Howie is so committed to relaxation that many people are convinced he's operating at about 10% battery life at all times. Don't worry, though, that's just his natural power-saving setting.

Howie also loves children and happily accepts all the attention they're willing to give. He also gets along well with other cats, big or small. Big dogs, however, can make him a little nervous. In his defense, some of his foster-dog siblings are the size of small ponies!

If you're looking for a kitten who will race through the house at top speed and climb the curtains, Howie may not be your guy. But if you're looking for a sweet, affectionate nap buddy who will snooze beside you while supervising your work, Howie is ready to apply for the job!

Warning: Adoption may result in increased lap occupancy, reduced productivity, and the desire to purchase an insane amout of cat beds!
