House's Story

House may be the smallest of his litter, but he has the biggest courage. This little all-black kitty proudly takes the lead for his big brother, carefully checking out new things first to make sure they’re safe for everyone. He can be a bit skeptical at first, but once you scoop him up, he turns into a complete ragdoll who loves being babied and held close. House is very talkative, especially when it’s breakfast time, and he’s not shy about sneaking a bite from the adult cat’s food when he gets the chance. House does wonderfully with other cats and even enjoys greeting large dogs with friendly curiosity. He’ll happily say hello and make himself right at home with his canine friends. The Homeward Bound Project of MS's Adoption Policy

Upon interest for a pet, the potential adopter will receive an adoption application via email. The application is returned, filled out, and process within 24-48 hours. A phone interview will follow, and all adopters are notified of status via phone call. Upon approval, a signed adoption contract and adoption fee must be received prior to sending the animal home. Adoption fees (with exceptions) are typically $65, which covers all vet care and surgery the animal receives while in Homeward Bound's care. All pets adopted out by Homeward Bound are spayed or neutered, have age-appropriate vaccinations, have been screened for diseases, and have been FIV/FeLV tested. They have spent at least 14 days in Mississippi homes in foster care and have been treated for any medical conditions. All animals have been properly vetted according to their needs and started on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives prior to being sent to their new homes!
