Houdini will happily roll onto his back to invite you in. He may act as though he's been deprived, but don't be fooled - he's a volunteer favorite and receives plenty of "Buddha belly" rubs every single day.<br/><br/>He gets along very well with other cats and brings a calm, steady presence to his surroundings. While he can be sensitive to loud or sudden changes, a peaceful environment and a patient approach help him relax and show what a wonderful companion he truly is. Houdini shares a deep bond with Shylo, who arrived at HART with him, and because of their close connection, they must be adopted together.<br/><br/>Houdini does have some medical needs, but they don't slow him down from enjoying life. He is diabetic and currently managed with a low-carbohydrate diet to support his health and weight goals, and he may require insulin in the future. He also has hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) which is monitored by a cardiologist. With continued care, he is stable and doing well.<br/><br/>Houdini and Shylo would thrive in a quiet, predictable home without young children or dogs - a place where they can feel safe, settle in at their own pace, and continue to blossom.
