Hot Chocolate's Story

Say hello to Hot Chocolate, a handsome brown tabby who's as rich and comforting as his name suggests. He can be a little shy at first--more of a slow sipper than a bold first gulp--but once he feels safe, his sweet personality starts to melt hearts. He's gentle, observant, and prefers a calm environment where he can warm up at his own pace.

Hot Chocolate really comes alive during playtime with his festive feline friends, Hot Toddy and Champurrado. With them, he's the perfect blend of playful and cozy--chasing toys one moment, then settling in for a snug group cuddle the next. Having his buddies around helps him come out of his shell, proving that life is better when shared with a little extra sweetness.

If you're looking for a companion who's low-key, loving, and guaranteed to add some comfort to your home, Hot Chocolate might be just your cup...or mug. With patience and affection, he'll melt right into your life and remind you that the best things are meant to be savored slowly. 🍫🐾

D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre's Adoption Policy
Connecting the right pets with the right families If you come to D'Arcy's A.R.C. to adopt a pet, you will be asked many questions to ensure that the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home and that you are prepared for the responsibilities and commitment of pet ownership. This discussion can go several ways. We may agree that the pet you are considering is an excellent match for your lifestyle, and lucky to have met you. We may suggest that you select a pet more suited to the home environment you will provide, or we may determine that you cannot take on the responsibilities and commitment of pet ownership at this time. Suppose you want to adopt a special needs pet with a physical condition or behavioural issues requiring extra care. In that case, we will ask that you fill out an application form. Our shelter manager will review this application form to ensure that you are aware of the cat's needs and the potential costs involved and can provide a suitable home. Potential adopters must provide a valid photo I.D. If you are leasing or renting a property for which the pet will call home, a copy of your leasing agreement that outlines that your home is pet-friendly is required. A letter or email signed by the landlord is also acceptable. All of our pets are spayed & neutered. Any kittens or puppies too young for the procedure at the time of adoption will have their spay/neuter paid for at our expense at our chosen veterinary clinic when they reach six months of age. Our cats all receive FVRCP vaccines, while all dogs receive DA2PP and Rabies. The adopter is responsible and must pay for any other medical treatments required after the adoption process. All adopted pets come with a care package, trial pet insurance, and a valid City of Winnipeg pet license for one year.
