Hop Along is a resilient 8-year-old black cat who has overcome a lot and is finally ready for a loving forever home. Rescued from a car garage in South Jamaica, Queens, Hop Along had been living in rough conditions for years, dealing with untreated injuries, malnutrition, and loneliness. Despite his hardships, this sweet senior boy has remained incredibly affectionate and trusting.<br/><br/>Hop Along got his name because of an old hind leg injury that causes a limp, and he’s also missing a few digits on one of his back paws. He has an irregular hind limb formation from an old injury, likely a long-forgotten accident. Despite all of this, he’s full of personality, loves to explore, and is determined to enjoy life!<br/><br/>Thanks to compassionate care and generous donors, Hop Along has received a full medical workup, a full dental extraction, and is currently on a prescription i/d Digestive Care diet. He is positive for FIV, which means he is immunosuppressed, but can reside in a home with other cats! He can still live a long and healthy life and his condition is not easily transmitable. After treating his dry skin with conditioner, Hop Along's coat is growing back beautifully. <br/><br/>Hop Along adores human interaction. He loves pets, scratches, and being near his people. He will greet you when you get in, and is not the type to turn down a good meal. Truly an affectionate gentleman who loves life’s simple pleasures.
