Hilbert's Story

Hi, I'm Hilbert! I'm a 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair who started life out on the streets before making my way to ACS. Now I'm ready to start my next chapter with someone who's looking for a fun, loyal companion like me.

I'm FIV-positive, but don't let that worry you-it just means I need to be an indoor-only kitty to stay healthy. I'm still a happy, active guy with tons of personality! I absolutely love wand toys, catnip, and turning just about anything into a game. My zoomies are pretty legendary, but once I've burned off that energy, I'm more than happy to settle in as a couch potato. Oh, and I'm also a proud member of the Clean Plate Club... snacks are one of my greatest passions.

When it comes to other animals, I'm still figuring things out. I can be a little cat selective and my rough-and-tumble play style isn't for everyone, but I have shown that I can get along with certain cats who enjoy the same kind of play or just some calm coexisting. Dogs aren't really my thing, and when I get excited I can sometimes be a little mouthy or grabby during play, so I'd likely do best in an adult home or with older kids who understand playful cat antics.

I'll come home neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped-completely ready for my new life. If you're looking for a goofy, affectionate, one-of-a-kind companion who will keep you laughing and always nearby, I might just be your guy. Come meet me and see why I'm so hard not to love!

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
