Hershey's Story

Hershey is a sweetie who has no idea that she lost one eye and her other eye is wonky and only sees light and shadows. She's very playful, will chase strings, balls and whatever else strikes her fancy (and likes hands, so be sure to give her toys!). She loves sitting in the windowsill and running up and down the stairs. She enjoys sitting with her human friends for a little bit, but then she's quickly off to find another fun adventure. Hershey has successfully lived with a variety of other animals and people of all ages in her foster home, though can sometimes take her time to warm up to new friends and environments. Once Hershey adjusts to her new family and learns they will always be there for her, she will show you just how much love she has to give.

Contra Costa Humane Society's Adoption Policy
CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues.  Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted.  Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore.  Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep. If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted! Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 171 Mayhew Way, Suite 101 in Pleasant Hill, CA 94523. Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions on Saturday, Sunday & Mo
