Hera's Story

Hera was not much older than a kitten herself when she became a mother. Born in early 2025, this gentle girl hadn’t had much time to learn to cat before she found herself alone, pregnant, and searching for somewhere safe to land. She showed up outside of a random apartment complex door, quietly asking to come in — as if she knew she needed help, not just for herself, but for the tiny lives she was carrying. Fortunately, they reached out to us for help.

Shortly after entering our care, Hera gave birth. Two of her precious kittens were born with CH, which confirmed that Hera was exposed to Panleukopenia while surviving outdoors. The fact that Hera and all of her babies made it through is nothing short of a miracle. She protected them with the quiet bravery only a young mother could muster.

Now that her babies are growing up, it’s Hera’s turn to be cared for.

She is incredibly sweet — the kind of cat who melts into you and lets out the softest, most grateful purr when you reach over to pet her at night. She prefers to sleep close by, soaking in the comfort and safety she went without for so long. Hera adores her people and would truly love a home where she can be the center of your world. While she isn’t aggressive with other cats, she clearly dreams of a life where she doesn’t have to compete for affection. After everything she’s shared, she’s ready for love that’s hers alone.

She does well with calm, cat-savvy dogs who respect her space, but her heart belongs to her humans.

Hera has already proven how strong and devoted she is. Now she’s just looking for someone to devote herself to — someone who will cherish the brave young mama who survived the odds and still chooses to trust, to love, and to purr.

Could that someone be you? 💕
