Henry Whiskerton's Story
Meet Henry Whiskerton

Henry Whiskerton is an adorable, chunky beefcake of a tabby with a heart as big as his paws. He was found outside on the coldest day of the year and thankfully brought indoors by a kind-hearted woman who knew he deserved better. Before his rescue, Henry survived Minnesota winters by slipping into the sewer system through street drains to stay warm. These days, he's fully embraced the indoor life of cozy beds, full bowls, and gentle affection - and he is thriving.

Henry is a sweet, lovable, fluffy boy with the tiniest baby meow that absolutely does not match his impressive size. He sounds like a tiny kitten crying, especially when reminding you that mealtime is approaching (or already late, in Henry's opinion). He's an excellent eater and not picky, but he could stand to lose a bit of his extra chunk, so portion control will be important in his forever home.

Henry is shy at first and can be startled by loud noises or fast movements. He takes time to feel safe, but once he does, his affectionate side shines. Because of this, Henry would do best in a quiet, calm home without small children, where he can settle in at his own pace.

While Henry is incredibly loving with people, his past on the streets left a mark when it comes to other cats. Having to compete to survive has made him afraid of other felines, and that fear can come out as aggression. For his comfort and success, Henry needs to be an only cat in his forever home, where he doesn't have to worry about sharing resources or feeling threatened.

Once he feels secure, Henry is all about affection. He loves being pet, gives enthusiastic headbutts, and rubs against your legs to make sure you don't forget about him. He's learning the joys of couches and laps and is warming up to them more each day. He enjoys being picked up and held over your shoulder - as long as you're scratching his neck and cheeks.

Henry is also learning about toys and has started putting his former outdoor "hunter" skills to use chasing wand toys. He gets the zoomies and has plenty of playful energy, but at heart he's a gentle, sensitive soul who just wants to feel safe and loved.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be your one-and-only and will reward your patience with endless headbutts, soft purrs, and that unforgettable baby meow, Henry Whiskerton is ready to claim his forever home.

Henry Whiskerton is fixed, microchipped, FIV/FeLv negative, and up to date on vaccinations for his age.

Adoption Fee: $250 + applicable tax

MEET ME/ADOPT ME: If you'd like to arrange a meeting or begin the adoption process, please fill out an adoption application by visiting https://www.twincitiespetrescue.org/adopt/ or clicking "Apply for Adoption".
