Hazelnut's Story

Meet Hazelnut, an 8-month-old DSH with a shy heart and the most adorable range of squeaky meows you’ve ever heard. This little lady lets out the cutest, drawn-out "excited screams" whenever she’s happy to see you—whether it’s a morning greeting, your entrance into the room, or her gentle way of asking for pets. It’s impossible not to smile when you hear her!

Hazelnut arrived at ACS as a completely feral 3-month-old kitten with her littermates—no socialization, no trust, just tiny terrified kittens discovering the world for the first time. Since then, she’s made steady, beautiful progress. Day by day, she’s growing braver, sweeter, and more curious. With a patient, loving family, she’ll continue to blossom until she’s ready to show off her affectionate and silly side.

One thing Hazelnut truly needs? A feline friend (or two!). She still leans on her cat buddies for confidence and guidance, and she absolutely adores them. You’ll often find her curled up napping with another cat, sharing a sunny window spot, or tag-teaming playtime with her pals. Her playful spirit shines brightest when she has a feline friend by her side to help her feel safe and loved.

Hazelnut is a total treat lover—Churu and squeeze treats are basically her love language. She’s already a fan of tail pats and is slowly warming up to neck and head scratches, too. With patience (and plenty of snacks), she transforms into the sweetest little shadow you could ask for.

She will come spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready to start the next chapter of her life.If you’re searching for a gentle, goofy, and squeaky little sweetheart who finds joy in the little things—and if you have a friendly cat (or several!) ready to show her the ropes—Hazelnut might just be your perfect match. Come meet her and get ready for the cutest excited squeals you’ve ever heard! ????

Animal Care Society Inc's Adoption Policy
Visit our web site at http://www.animalcaresociety.org/ Why Adopt from ACS? One of the best things about life is that it’s full of second chances! When people adopt a new family member from a shelter they are giving a pet a second chance in life! Many folks go to a breeder for a specific type of pet but those same animals can be found at the Animal Care Society! And if there isn’t such an animal at our shelter, ACS staffers are happy to refer interested parties to the RIGHT breed rescue group! The pets available at the Animal Care Society are special. Careful selection, constant socialization, diligent loving daily care and even hand raised kittens and puppies make our candidates for adoption a premium in the shelter world. While we are still a shelter, we make every effort to make a cat or dog feel at home here! It goes a long way in deferring some of the kennel fatigue experienced by shelter animals.
