Hawkeye

Despite the name, Hawkeye was not named after the Marvel superhero. Her name is unfortunately much more literal.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>This little girl was actually attacked by a hawk. Someone courageously stepped in, saved her, and brought her to us. And before you worry—her eye is okay! <br/><br/> <br/><br/>Hawkeye is currently in foster care, and we've learned that she just needs a little time to decide everything is safe.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>For her first couple of days, she lived under the bed. She would sneak out to eat and use the litter box, but if she caught you catching her out in the open?<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Abort mission. Back under the bed.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>But we gave her space and let her figure things out on her own. After about two days, she decided maybe this whole indoor life wasn't so bad.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Now?<br/><br/> <br/><br/>She jumps up in bed and sleeps beside you or curls up on your pillow. She'll climb onto your chest, nuzzle her face against yours, and give you little kisses.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Sometimes the kisses are followed by a tiny love bite.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>We're still trying to determine whether she's recreating the hawk incident, attempting to nurse on your chin, or simply checking to see what you taste like.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Hawkeye likes to play, but she isn't a super high-energy kitten. She seems perfectly content just hanging out with her person. She'll sit with you while you play video games and watch everything happening on the screen. We also feel like she'd be equally invested in an evening of Dateline or whatever questionable reality show you're currently pretending you don't watch.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>She's a “give me a couple of days” kind of cat.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>She may not walk into a new home and immediately act like she owns the place. She'll need someone willing to give her a little space, a little patience, and a few days to realize she's safe.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>But once she does?<br/><br/> <br/><br/>You get the Hawkeye who sleeps on your pillow, climbs onto your chest, nuzzles your face, gives kisses, and just wants to be close to you.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>And we think she's absolutely worth the wait.
