Havana - Front declawed's Story

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!

**Adoption Interest Form REQUIRED via our website Rarerescue.org**

Meet Havana!

Havana is a truly gorgeous silver tabby with stunning markings and a personality to match. Around 3–4 years old, she is affectionate, friendly, and full of charm. She absolutely loves being pet and doted on—but she also has a delightfully quirky side! Havana may bat you with her paw to remind you she’s there, or that she's overstimulateed, then immediately rub up against you asking for more attention. It’s all part of her lovable, expressive nature.

She is declawed in the front, so there’s no scratching, making her a great option for someone concerned about furniture or sensitive skin.

She does well with other cats and would be happiest with kittens or laid-back, friendly adult cats. Havana also doesn’t seem to mind dogs, though we’d be happy to test her with a specific dog in your home to ensure the best fit.

Havana is FIV positive, and we want to help clear up some common misconceptions. FIV-positive cats can live long, healthy, normal lives and often require no extra medical care beyond routine vet visits. FIV is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds, not casual contact, so FIV-positive cats can safely live with non-FIV cats as long as everyone gets along. The main consideration is that they should not be exposed to sick cats, as their immune systems can be a bit more sensitive.

Havana is otherwise very healthy, has no other medical issues, and has a great appetite—she loves mealtime just as much as cuddle time!

If you’re looking for a sweet, unique, and affectionate companion with a little sass and a lot of love to give, Havana might be your perfect match.

Complete an Adoption Application at rarerescue.org

ADOPTION FEES: Our Adoption Fees vary based on adoptability to help all of the animals in our organization. We feel the same way! The CAT ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason.

All of our Adoptables are:

*Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines (age appropriate); On flea prevention; De-wormed; FELV/FIV tested; Microchipped prior to adoption

Visit our website/Click on Adopt to "APPLY" today! RARErescue.org

BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.

Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.

***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.

Thank you for choosing to adopt, foster, or aid in the rescue efforts of RARE!
