Hartford's Story
Meet Hartford
Hartford is a sweet, gentle soul who has had a tough time in the shelter and is still learning that the world can be a safe place. He is shy and fearful at first and he will truly thrive with a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to let him move at his own pace, no pressure, no expectations, just kindness and consistency. Hartford would do best in a calm, quiet home. He has no known experience with children or other animals, so for his sake, a home with mellow pets and/or cat savvy children who can help maintain a low stress environment would be ideal, along with a slow thoughtful introduction. Once he feels safe, his sweet nature really shines through.
Hartford does have some ongoing medical needs. He has an aural polyp and recurrent ear infections, so adopters will need to have a clinic consult and be committed to regular veterinary checkups. With a good care plan and attentive vet support, Hartford can stay comfortable, healthy, and pain free.
Hartford may not be the kind of cat who rushes into your arms but for the right person, earning his trust will be incredibly rewarding. He's looking for someone who sees his gentle heart and is willing to give him the time and love he deserves.

If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an adopter profile at www.parl.org/adopt and stop by during our open hours!
