Harriet's Story

Harriet was brought to the shelter after her previous owner passed away. She is about 10 years old. Weighing in at 16 pounds, this poor girl had some pretty severe matting on her back that had to be shaven out. Her nails were also very overgrown to the point they were piercing into her paw pads. We took her to our vet to help us trim them up and our vet thinks she might not have much feeling left in some of her toes. Luckily, she does not require any special care for that, but we do want any potential adopters to be aware that she may require some extra grooming. Harriet is such a sweet girl though! She is a little shy at first, but comes around the second you start petting on her. She was living as an only pet, but seems like she would be able to do well with other animals and children once she has some time to get used to them. Harriet is now in need of a loving home and family!
