Harley's Story
Harley is a bit of celebrity around here and he kinda knows it. He wants attention, all the attention? Petting? Not enough. He wants to be on your shoulder.

This guy has a pretty amazing history. We have photos to show you! Harley was in a house fire and his nose started growing. Like, clown ball on the end growing. So much so he could barely breath or eat. He was brought to our shelter and our veterinary team immediately got him in for surgery to remove him and not so brag, he got a full nose job.

The super interesting part is what caused this massive growth was a fungal infection. This isn't contagious to other pets or humans. Harley has been on an anti fungal medication that has managed the infection. This medication will likely be longer term, something his new adopter will need to manage with their vet.

Since Harley's condition will be ongoing, our shelter veterinarian will speak with your veterinarian to ensure continued care. We will be looking for an adopter with a strong vet history.

Harley is full of spunk! He wants to play. He wants to knock everything off your shelves. He wants excitement!

We suspect given his extremely outgoing personality, Harley will fit into homes with other playful pets and high energy kids.

This very good guy truly has a fascinating past! Sure, he snorts like a pug and his nose is a bit wonky, but he is the most lovable feline who is sure to fill your days with endless mischievous joy.

We do NOT respond to PetFinder inquires; we only respond to emails sent to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org regarding adoption inquires.

We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need.

Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and we’ve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.
