Ham showed up at my stepson's door in Mesa, hungry and alone in August 2025. My wife and I decided to take him in and attempt to integrate him into our home.<br/><br/>Ham is around 3 to 4 years old, healthy, and extremely loveable. He loves people, being around people, and meowing at you for attention!<br/><br/>Ham is fully up to date on vaccines and has been neutered.<br/><br/>Ham needs to be in a house where he is the only cat. Being a former stray, he sees other cats as threats and as such does not get along with our other 2 cats. It is the policy of Desert Paws Rescue that all potential cat adopters complete a Cat Adoption Consultation Form and an interview with a Desert Paws representative in order to be considered as a forever home for our cats and kittens. Completion of the application and interview process does not guarantee an adoption approval or guarantee the adoption of a particular cat or kitten. Desert Paws Rescue is a privately run, all-volunteer, non-profit organization and reserves the right to refuse any adoption that is not in the best interest of the cat or kitten, based on our principles, policies, and standards. Desert Paws Rescue will determine the best home for each cat or kitten based on the application and interview process. After review of the adoption consultation form and the completion of the interview with a Desert Paws representative, Desert Paws Rescue may recommend a different cat or kitten that is more suitable to your household.
