Halen's Story

Meet Halen!

He is one of five beautiful indoor-only cats who were put outside to live on their own when their irresponsible owner was evicted and moved from their home. These cats had absolutely no idea how to take care of themselves, and winter is coming!

All of the cats are very affectionate and social with each other. They are estimated to be 2 to 3 years old. They have not lived around dogs so they are afraid of them. Halen and Weston seem to spend the most amount of time hanging out together. They might make an excellent indoor pair.

The cats were all intact so we have spayed and neutered all of them. Now, they just need a safe indoor-only home and family to love and care for them for the remainder of their lives.

**Important: Indigo Rescue adopts cats to indoor-only homes or homes with catios. We do this for the safety and longevity of the cats and we hope that our community will learn from our example. Outdoor cats or indoor/outdoor cats fall victim to many predators, including coyotes, eagles, hawks, owls, and even loose neighborhood dogs. They can be hit by cars, poisoned, or trapped and taken away by people who don’t like cats trespassing on their property. They can also spread diseases such as feline leukemia and FIV, neither of which are treatable. Cats will live a very long, enriched life with just a companion kitty as a playmate, a few toys and a cat tree. Please consider re-thinking your cats lives. Thank you!!

**Please note: Indigo rescue only adopts to homes within 30 miles of Beaverton, Oregon. The first part of our process is to have you complete our online adoption application. This helps us make compatible matches. You can find the application on our Indigorescue.org website under the adoption tab. We’ll get back to you from there to hopefully arrange a meet for you.
