GWENDOLYN's Story
Happy Fall! The calendar might say we are in the "ber" months, but the temperatures are still warm! That means we are still struggling through kitten season. We desperately need to make room to get Moms, kittens and other cats in and fixed before the cold comes. Please consider adopting! And tell your friend to adopt too! We still have lots of kittens and some of our older cats have been here awhile, so there is a cat for everyone!! Remember,
adopting saves TWO cats lives! Adopting one cat will free up a cage so we can help another. Together we can make countless more cats & kittens lives better. Win! Win! The kitties thank you too!

This is Gwendolyn!
Gwendolyn is a domestic short haired grey tabby with white, spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 2 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana!

I'm Gwennie and I'm a sweet girl with a side of sass. I've been looking for a home for almost 365 days! I'm a tiny girl and I was full of hiss and vinegar, but alot less hiss these days. I'll tell you what, I don't put up with nothing and I'll tell you exactly what I think If I like you, I can be as sweet as a bag of sugar though. Everyday that goes by and people don't hurt me or yell at me, I get a little bit more sweeter!
I'm a petite girl and I was found living outside by myself. I was taking care myself and staying out of trouble. One day I found someone who noticed me and gave me food! Allllll right then! I kept going back for food everyday and then one day ..BOOM! And the next thing I know, I'm at the shelter.
I might be a little sassy at first, but my sweet side is coming out more and more! I used to think people were mean. What would you think about people when they promised a forever home and then just threw you out like garbage? But, I'm learning MOST people aren't bad!
In fact I LOVE pets! I LOVE to have wet and dry food to eat and my own fresh water! I love being warm and taken care of! It's so nice! I didn't realize this is what being a kitty is about! I've learned being a kitty isn't about just surviving, it's about being loved and having a person (or a few) to love you back! Okay! I'm IN!!! And I want more!! More pets!! I may require a little patience at first, but once we hit it off, it's all good!
Come see me at the shelter today! I have my own " room" and we can visit! I think I had a "home" at one time but a home isn't a home when you're not wanted.
I like to play with other kitties, so if you have another kitty we should be able to get along (with the proper introduction) especially if they like to play!
However, probably NO dogs and I'm not sure about younger kids yet either.
If you're looking around for a little sweety spitfire kitty who needs another chance, come see me! Make an appointment to meet me at the shelter to adopt or foster to adopt today!

Please call 219-922-1766 and leave a message to meet Gwennie today! Or fill out an adoption application that can be found online at TreasuredFriendsRescue.org or follow the link from our profile at Petfinder ( scroll all the way down to the bottom for the link)
*****************************************
Griffith Animal Control, in partnership with Treasured Friends Animal Rescue believes in giving kitties that others wouldn't give a chance, a helping hand at getting a forever home. Our volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to gain their trust to show them they are safe and no one will hurt them. However, when the kitties go to a new home, some will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months. We are always here to help with any questions Please, only apply if you are an experienced cat owner or are willing to provide patience and good forever home.
Thank you!
