When GusGus first arrived at HART, he was understandably shy and unsure, preferring to observe the world from a safe distance while he learned who and what he could trust.<br/><br/>Over time, GusGus has shown us the sweet and sensitive cat hiding beneath that initial shyness. While he still takes time to feel comfortable in new environments, patience and kindness go a long way with this special boy. And if you happen to have treats? Even better--snacks are definitely one of the quickest ways to win GusGus over.<br/><br/>A huge part of GusGus's confidence comes from his best buddy Nero. The two have become quick friends and provide each other with comfort, security, and companionship. GusGus tends to look for calm cats for reassurance, often gaining confidence simply by having a best friend nearby. Because of this GusGus must be adopted with a friend, like Nero, or to a home with a welcoming and calm cat, so he can continue being supported as he adjusts to home life.<br/><br/>GusGus is still a shy boy at heart and will need a calm, patient home that understands trust takes time.
