Gus's Story
Gus is also approximately 7-9 months old and was surrendered by someone who ended up with intact young cats (a male and multiple females) that she couldn't care for.

Gus is still pretty shy because he grew up without getting a lot of socialization. He was really shut down when he first came in and seemed like he wanted nothing to do with us, but after my patient persistence, he has begun to realize that he really does like attention after all!

He needs a patient, loving home with someone who's not only willing to give him time, but who's also willing to go out of their way to talk to him, pet and reassure him, give him treats, and overall work with him to help him feel more confident so that his personality can blossom. He's not likely to thrive or improve if someone just brings him home and sticks him in a room by himself all day. I just know that Gus will become a wonderful, happy boy in the right home!

He wouldn't be a good fit for kids. Other friendly cats should be okay. He hasn't lived with a dog but is young and could likely adapt to a dog that respects his space and wouldn't chase or scare him while he settles into his new home.

(All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, de-wormed, tested for FeLV/FIV, and treated for fleas before adoption)

Our adoption application and policies can be found here:

www.secondchancear.org/adopt-1
