Gus's Story

Meet Gus! When Gus was first adopted by his previous family from San Diego Humane Society, he became very ill. So ill, in fact, that he needed multiple blood transfusions and round-the-clock care at the ER for days. It turned out that he was positive for Mycoplasma Hemofelis, something that if left untreated, would not have ended well for him. Thankfully, after all of his diagnostics, vet visits, and treatments, Gus made a full recovery! He is confirmed negative for the Myco now, and his only life adjustment is to be on flea prevention monthly his whole life in case he is a carrier! Gus came to us when he became unhappy in his previous home being around a new resident dog. When anxiety meds weren't helping, his family made the difficult decision to rehome him for a better quality of life. While Gus loved one of his resident dogs and the resident cats, he will do best in a dog-free household so he can get all the attention. Gus is a super sweet boy, insanely food motivated, and has no "off" switch to his energy! He loves playing with other cats and being around humans. Gus also loves scritches and being brushed, so feel free to ask for one to groom this handsome man while you visit! This happy boy is ready to find his next furever home, so apply to adopt him today!
