Gretchen and Cady - Bonded Pair Sisters's Story
Gretchen and Cady were surrendered to Devore Animal Shelter in May 2026 when they were only five weeks old. Because they were too young to remain safely at the shelter, a plea was sent to rescue partners asking someone to take them into foster care. Kitty Devore Rescue answered the call. The sisters first stayed in a temporary foster home until they were old enough to begin their vetting at eight weeks, then moved into the care of their long-term foster family, which includes two young girls who have happily welcomed them into their daily adventures.

Gray-and-white Gretchen is the confident big sister: a little fluffier, a little bolder, and overflowing with charm. She is independent enough to explore on her own but never too dignified to join her human sisters for Barbie adventures or stroller rides around the house. Gretchen loves affection and rewards attention with gentle purrs and playful head bumps. Curious, intelligent, and easygoing, she is equally happy chasing toys, lounging in a sunny spot, or keeping watch over Cadys antics. She is wonderful with children, is learning her kitty manners beautifully, and may also be comfortable sharing her home with a calm, cat-friendly dog.

Petite Cady is the sweetheart of the duo, with charming calico spots sprinkled across her back and a heart full of affection. She believes every human deserves a little feline supervision, especially while working, and will happily perch on a shoulder to make sure everything is being done properly. Curious, playful, and devoted, Cady follows her people from room to room, curls up in their laps for naps, and brings them her favorite feather wand when she is ready for a game. She is gentle and patient with children, accepts nail trims and handling with ease, and is learning not to scratch furniture or climb on counters.

Gretchen and Cady are deeply bonded sisters who bring out the best in one another, so they must be adopted together. They play hide-and-seek beneath blankets, race through the house in joyful bursts of kitten energy, cuddle, and comfort each other. Every kitten deserves a best friend with whom to share life's adventures, naps, and occasional troublemaking. Still, most of all, every kitty deserves a forever family committed to loving them for their entire lifetime.

To apply to adopt Gretchen and Cady, please visit www.kittydevorerescue.org and submit an adoption application today.
