Graycie's Story

Young adult Graycie is playful and affectionate. She is very talkative and will meow to ask for her people to play with her: wand toys and red light toys are her favorite, and she's also been known to carry stuffed toys around in her mouth. She purrs when held and will sleep alongside her foster parents. For a little cat she has the biggest personality. She is confident and knows what she wants and, well, she usually gets it! She gets along well with other cats and can regularly be found chasing and running around with her feline housemates.

Graycie was successfully treated for feline infectious peritonitis. Apart from being a FIP survivor, she does have chronic congestion issues, likely due to a viral infection she sustained as a young kitten. We’ve figured out a medication routine with Graycie's vet to tamp the congestion down and keep it under control, but she likely will always be a little sneezy and her symptoms will require ongoing management; as a result, she will need an adopter with cat experience, excellent cat handling/medicating skills, and a well-established relationship with a veterinarian. Luckily the basic meds she benefits from are very affordable.

This little cat that could has the biggest heart -- she will absolutely steal yours! Graycie is available for adoption with a medical scholarship that will cover the cost of one wellness visit per year.

Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
We are a small, volunteer-run, foster-based private rescue. All of our cats have been fostered in private homes and will never go up for adoption straight off the street. We know their personalities and preferences, likes and dislikes, and any special needs they may have. This information helps us to ensure that each cat is matched with the perfect family during the adoption process. While our adoption process is more intricate than that of some other organizations, our goal is to make sure our cats are placed in the best possible lifelong homes. Some of our cats live in an adoption center at the Dover, Del. PetSmart, while others are in foster homes. We can set up meetings with individual cats following approval of an adoption application. Our adoption application and full list of adoption policies can be found here: https://www.purrfecthavencatrescue.org/adoption-form Our standard cat adoption fee is $90 for adult cats and $115 for kittens under the age of one year. For purebred and purebred/purebred-cross cats our fees range from $125-$200.
