Gravy's Story

Hi! My name is Gravy and here is a little more about me :

My Journey
I was found as a stray alongside my sister (Biscuit). A kind woman made sure we were safe and boarded us with a veterinarian before bringing us to Smittens Rescue, where we’re now getting ready for our next chapter.

My Social Life
Other cats: I can do well with other kitty friends after proper, slow introductions. I may start off a little hissy and nervous for a few days, but I just need time to feel secure.
Dogs: I haven’t met dogs that I remember.
Kids: I haven’t had experience with mini humans yet.

My Personality
I’m a gentle soul who is still learning what it means to live closely with humans. In new environments, I can be a bit jumpy with sudden touch, but once I feel safe and confident, I turn into a total purr machine. I’m curious but cautious—still figuring out toys like balls, mice, and strings, and deciding what I like best. I appreciate calm, respectful handling and do best when my boundaries are honored. Give me 2–3 days to decompress in a new space, and you’ll see my sweet side start to shine.

I Enjoy...
Chin and cheek scratches (they make me absolutely melt)
Churu treats—my current favorite indulgence
Exploring high places, cozy nooks, and new corners

I’m Not a Fan Of...
I don’t enjoy being held or picked up. If I do need to be moved, gentle and calm handling is best. As I continue to settle in and build trust, this may change with time and patience.

What Makes Me Special
When I’m purring, I chirp at the same time—and yes, it’s as cute as it sounds.

My Perfect Home
I’d thrive in a calm, patient home with minimal loud noises and humans who understand that sometimes I just want space to explore on my own terms. I would likely do very well
