Grapenut's Story

Meet Grapenut!

Grapenut was surrendered to me on 3/12 when his mom had to move out of town to care for her sick mother. He is a little over a year old. Grapenut is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, vaccinated Rabies and vaccinated 1st round FVRCP. He will need to see a veterinarian in April for his 2nd round FVRCP.

Grapenut uses the litter box without issue. Grapenut is a very playful, curious and active guy. He enjoys affection, face nuzzles and pets.

Grapenut is initially defensive with new cats. He will need a slow introduction to cat siblings. He will be cat selective - he's been fine with easy going female and male cats. He will not do well with dominant, antagonistic or defensive cats, male or female. Grapenut becomes overstimulated easily. He was fixed on 3/16 and his tendency for overstimulation has decreased. Given his tendency for overstimulation, he also needs a home that understands his signals and will give him the enrichment that he needs to get his energy out. This also means a home with older kids if kids are present. Please take a look at the webpage below for more information on overstimulation, how it impacts a cat's body and how to help them.
https://www.catcaresociety.org/overstimulation-in-cats/

Grapenut's adoption fee is $75. I require potential adopters to meet with me in my home to ask questions and to meet Grapenut. I am located in S Everett near Mariner HS.

If you're interested in adopting Grapenut, please fill out the questionnaire below and I will be in touch. When adopting a cat from Grassroots Rescue, you will be dealing solely with the rescuer of that cat. While we have a generic questionnaire for you to fill out, the most important thing will be for you to connect with the rescuer and find out more about this cat; discussing the cat and your lifestyle will help your rescuer know if this cat will be a good fit for you! Your rescuer may have a different application or different questions. Filling out the adoption application will answer the basic questions for your rescuer, but we look forward to answering your questions as well. The application has been pasted below, and you may copy/paste it into an email and send directly to the rescuer in order to hasten the process; alternately, the rescue will send you the application as an attachment. You may sign the application electronically.
