Meet Gracie Tilley 0813
Gracie~born~August 27 2013
Two days before Christmas Gracie lost everything. She doesn't understand what a fatal traffic accident is but she knows her mother, the human who loved and pampered her and was always there for her in the past, didn't come home that night. She just suddenly disappeared from Gracie's life. For a few weeks strangers came to bring food and tend to Gracie's litter box. Gracie would only watch them from hiding because they weren't her mom. Then a different set of strangers came and caught Gracie, packed her into a cat carrier, and took her from the only home she had ever known.
At first Gracie stayed hidden under a bed at the new foster home. Nothing was familiar to her there and so everything was scary. But with time Gracie started to let her guard down a little. She'd eat treats tossed over to her, then allow herself to be petted as long as she could stay out of sight. Finally, she conquered her fears and stepped out into the open so that her foster dad could really love on her. She even flopped on her side to get tummy rubs and would head butt him if he slacked off on the pets she wanted. Even after all she's been through in the last month Gracie remains a total love bug.
The person who knew Gracie best can't answer questions for us but we still know some things about her. Gracie's seven years old and is up to date on all of her recommended vaccines. She's also spayed, negative for both Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, and has a micro-chip. Also, as will be obvious to anybody who sees Gracie now, she needs to lose a little weight. We did say Gracie was pampered, right?
Another thing we know is that Gracie isn't a fan of other cats. And she probably wouldn't enjoy living with dogs or small children either. Gracie is used to a quiet, low-key home, preferably one with cozy napping places that get plenty of sunshine. And windows with a view of birds and squirrels will be very nice too!
The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, FELUK/FIV combo test, spay/neuter, and microchip!
