Gourd's Story

Meet Gourd – the sweet, snuggly, shy boy from the wrong side of the tracks. This big boy has spent the majority of his life outside. When he first came to us, he was recovering from a bad cat fight and needed some time to come around to his friends at the pound. Now, he spends most of his day lounging in bed and seeking out warm laps to drool on. So much so, he has now developed some separation anxiety and will follow his favorite people around his room or call out for snuggles when he’s lonely.
He is very shy when he first meets people, but it doesn’t take him long to show his gentle, affectionate and kind personality.
Gourd seems interested in other cats, but he has only met them from afar. We have not seen him interact with dogs. He was nervous when meeting young children, but came around once they were calm and encouraging.
We are looking for an indoor only home.
Gourd is about 3-5 years old, neutered, micro chipped, de-wormed, has his first set of vaccines, and has been treated for fleas. He has also recently had a dental, where multiple broken teeth were removed. Gourd’s adoption fee is $350. Adoption viewing is available after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact us at 250-414-0233 or sign up to our adoption waitlist www.vacs.ca/adoption/waitlist. Whenever possible, applications will be processed by email.
